At the heart of it, SearchAtlas is OTTO, the AI engine that runs site audits, flags issues, and actually implements fixes. You install a pixel on your site, connect Search Console, and OTTO takes it from there by identifying crawl issues, recommending content changes, improving on-page SEO, even managing your Google Business Profile. No dev tickets, no duct-taped tools.

This tool is the dream for someone already wearing six marketing hats and needing some help. 

 Key features  

  1. OTTO SEO: As I mentioned above, OTTO is another AI assistant that can handle technical SEO and on-page audits. You can review OTTO’s actionable insights in the dashboard and deploy changes instantly, regardless of your CMS, which is super helpful.
  2. On-Page Audit Tool: Use this tool to compare your pages against top-ranking competitors. Surprisingly, it didn’t just spit out vague advice. It gave me specific, actionable tips to improve keyword targeting, content structure, internal links, and even technical stuff like page speed and metadata.
  3. Automates local SEO: It’s easy to manage multiple Google Business profiles with Search Atlas. From the dashboard you can use AI to generate posts like questions and answers. It also has an automated review responder, which helps businesses to manage their reputation and ratings on Google. 
  4. Competitor analysis and keyword research: The Site Explorer tool (which has a similar UI to Ahrefs) provides you with all the SEO metrics you would expect from keyword research tools like Semrush and Ahrefs.

Key features that impressed us 

  1. Live editor for instant SEO changes: I really liked this feature. I was easily able to update meta tags, H1s, image alt text, and internal links directly on the page, in my browser. No CMS logins, no developer back-and-forth. It’s like “Inspect Element” with actual power.
  2. One-click deployment across your whole site: Another helpful feature of this AI SEO software is that it gives you the option to set rules like “add this keyword to every H1” and push those updates across hundreds of pages instantly. Not that we’d recommend doing that.
  3. AI-powered internal linking: Alli scans your site and automatically suggests internal links based on keyword relevance and page context. It has the potential to save hours of manual linking. You can also use it as a second set of eyes to make sure you didn’t miss any links. 
  1. A/B testing for title tags: Want to see if “Buy Now” outperforms “Shop Today”? Alli can automatically test different title tag versions and keep the winner. It’s SEO meets conversion rate optimization.

ChatGPT is an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI that uses natural language processing to generate human-like text in response to prompts, from casual conversation to complex tasks.

Unless you are living under a rock, you know what ChatGPT is. For SEOs ChatGPT is the Swiss-rmy knife of AI tools. Instead of listing what it does, we should rather be asking ourselves what it doesn’t do. 

I’ve used it to cluster keywords, recommend internal linking opportunities, troubleshoot technical SEO issues (yes, even regex), and map content by search intent. And that’s before we even get to what it’s really great at: content. 

As a certified content girlie™, this is the use case I can vouch for. I’ve used ChatGPT to brainstorm, draft article outlines, optimise meta descriptions, proof copy etc.As a certified content girlie™, this is the use case I can vouch for. It’s good, but not to replace your writers entirely. It’s a great tool to augment and support your writers. 

(But hey, that’s just me. It’s totally valid if you’re using it to crush technical SEO or to design action figures or whatever).

  5. Writing meta descriptions: I use ChatGPT to write (or rewrite) meta descriptions that are clear, keyword-aligned, and actually entice clicks. Super helpful when you have to do them in bulk.

This part of SEO is in its Blade Runner era: a little surreal, slightly chaotic, and moving fast. But that’s exactly why we started using Otterly at Skale — because ranking in classic Google search engine results is only half the game now.

My first impressions of this tool are that if you are deep in deadline chaos and need content yesterday, Writesonic is the tool you should turn to. It’s built for marketers who need done-is-better-than-perfect copy, and it delivers quick, AI-generated content that’s surprisingly polished.

Under the hood, it uses GPT-4 and its own AI models to help you create optimized content that (usually) makes sense and sounds human. You can feed it a topic and target keyword, and it’ll generate everything from meta descriptions and outlines to full-length 5,000+ word  blog posts that are complete with H2s, bullet points, and solid SEO structure.

It’s not a silver bullet, but when you need content moving fast, it’s one of the quickest ways to streamline content creation at scale.

I haven’t had a chance to put this through its paces yet, but if it works as promised, it’s a solid step toward more trustworthy AI-generated content.

While tools like Peec and OtterlyAI give you a brand-level overview, GPTrends gets granular. I’m talking product names, SKUs, features, the nerdy stuff SEO teams actually care about.

It’s a great tool for spotting which prompts actually trigger mentions of your product — and just as importantly, where you’re not getting picked up by AI tools like ChatGPT. It shows you where you’re winning and where you’re basically invisible. 

If you’re serious about owning your niche in the generative search space, GPTrends is like a search console for the AI layer of the web.

Top features to look for in an AI SEO tool

Not all AI SEO tools are created equal — some promise “intelligent automation” but deliver basic rule-based logic in a shiny wrapper. 

Others come loaded with features that sound great but don’t fit into your actual workflow. Whether you’re choosing your first AI tool or switching from one that’s not quite cutting it, here’s what to keep in mind.

Is it really AI?

If the tool sounds more like a template engine than something that learns, trust your gut — it probably is. Real AI tools adapt, predict, and get better the more you use them. If you’re not seeing any signs of machine learning (like evolving suggestions, tone adjustments, or NLP-based insights), you’re not getting your money’s worth.

Is the tool tailored specifically for SEO and does that match your goals?

Not every AI tool needs to do everything. The key is knowing what you actually need help with — writing content, fixing technical issues, improving local rankings — and choosing a tool that’s built to support that.

Don’t expect magic. If your main struggle is keyword strategy, a content-first tool won’t fix your site speed. If your biggest bottleneck is dev time, look for automation features. Be realistic about what outcomes the tool can actually deliver and where you’ll still need human input.

Can it easily integrate into your existing workflow? 

The best tools don’t make you reinvent the wheel. They play nice with Google Docs, your CMS, keyword tools, and whatever reporting stack you’re already using. If you’re stuck copying and pasting between tabs just to get results out the door, it’s not saving you time — it’s just a new headache.

Is there adequate customer support?

AI tools can be glitchy or weird (because, well, they’re AI). When something breaks, you want a support team that answers fast, knows what they’re talking about, and doesn’t hit you with “we’ll forward this to the dev team” and disappear. 

Can this tool scale with your business? 

What works when you’re managing one site might crumble under five. Look for user seats, credit flexibility, agency dashboards, and scalable output options. If your workflow grows and the tool taps out? Not worth the investment.

Do you know what you’re not getting?
