How Skale helps SaaS brands seamlessly migrate their websites:

Understand your migration requirements during the discovery phase

Understand your migration requirements during the discovery phase

During the discovery phase, we work closely with your team to align on a clear project scope. We use this scope to generate a bespoke roadmap tailored to the exact requirements of your brand.

β€Žβ€Ž

During the project, you will work alongside a dedicated account manager, project manager, SEO specialist and technical SEO analyst.

β€Ž

This is also an opportunity for us to learn more about your internal processes so we can adopt them as our own while working with you.

Benchmark data, analyze backlinks, audit content and map redirects during the research phase

Benchmark data, analyze backlinks, audit content and map redirects during the research phase

The most important phase of any website migration (and one that a lot of brands ignore). The research phase is where the real preparation happens. All work listed below is undertaken before the migration begins.
β€Ž
We perform:

β€’ A thorough technical audit of your current site to ensure key issues aren’t carried across

β€’ Detailed benchmarking of KPIs such as MQL/SQL generating pages, rankings, traffic and revenue

β€’ An audit of your existing internal link architecture to identify opportunities for improvement during the migration

β€’ A detailed backlink analysis to minimise value loss post-migration

β€’ A granular content audit with redirect mapping to preserve authority and link equity if the site structure is changing. This is also a great opportunity to cull poorly performing content

Provide continued support and regular feedback during the staging phase

Provide continued support and regular feedback during the staging phase

Once key changes are made and the site is moved to the staging environment, we continue to monitor and audit the site until it’s ready to move to production.

β€Ž

During this phase, we confirm that redirects are working correctly, internal links are properly mapped and the site is hitting the right technical benchmarks.

β€Ž

When the site is ready to move to production, we conduct over 100 pre-launch checks to ensure that recommendations have been implemented correctly.

Help you hit the ground running with post-launch support

Help you hit the ground running with post-launch support

Once the site is live, our team will re-audit the site to confirm a smooth transition, flagging any issues immediately with your team.

β€Ž

We will also initiate the change of domain protocol, undertake post-launch redirect checks and continue to run regular performance benchmarks as the site is crawled and indexed for the first time by search engines.

"What I really appreciate about how Skale operates is that they truly feel like an extension of our team. They're always available on Slack or ready to join meetings and troubleshoot, even outside of our allotted times or the initial scope of work. We've been going through a lot of change, with shifting timelines and priorities internally, so this flexibility has been a critical factor in our ability to move quickly."

FAQs

Answers to common questions

1
Skale offers SEO website migration support for protocol (http to https) migrations, redesigns, CMS re-platforms, website merges, domain migrations, international site migrations or hybrid migrations (a combination of these options).
2
From discovery phase through to post-launch, a site migration could take anywhere from 3-5 months to complete. This may take longer if there are additional dependencies such as rewrites or delays due to design and development factors that may prolong the staging phase. We price migrations per project, not at an hourly rate, so we are able to adapt our timeline to suit yours.
3
Site migrations can start from €8,000, but this depends on the size and complexity of the migration. During the discovery phase, we collect all the necessary information that will allow us to provide you with a bespoke, accurate quotation to support you with your website migration.
4
Even the simplest of websites require detailed planning and support when undertaking a website migration. Ensuring SEO expertise is involved from the beginning mitigates these risks and provides you with the peace of mind that the 'tricky part' is being taken care of, allowing you to focus on your rebrand, redesign or transfer.
5
There are always risks that come with a website migration, especially when you are migrating to a new domain. Rankings are also likely to fluctuate post-migration, even if it goes smoothly. Our goal is to minimise the risks associated with migrating a site. In some cases, our clients see a positive impact to their rankings after the migration is complete.
6
There are advantages to both options. Migrating everything at once is most likely to be more cost-efficient and beneficial for SEO, however larger, more complex projects may benefit from a phased approach. For example, brand merges may be undertaken in stages to allow us to collect data, feed back and iterate the later stages of the migration to eliminate mistakes made in the earlier phases.
